The Graça Machel Trust (GMT) and Womandla Foundation is pleased to invite you to the 3rd annual hybrid Pan African Adolescent Girls’ Movement Jubilee on Tuesday March 19th, 2024, from 12:00 to 15:30 SAST.
The SHE SPEAKS Jubilee is a hybrid gathering of adolescent girls and other change makers, key stakeholders and organisations contributing to the adolescent girls’ advancement. This year our theme is Promoting quality education for African adolescent girls to transform their holistic lifelong development.
We would like to specifically invite you to listen and engage in a candid conversation with the girls on the intersection between issues that affect their lives. We would also deeply appreciate you considering the adolescent girls’ recommendations in your noble cause beyond the event.
The specific objectives of the Jubilee are to:
- Draw attention to factors limiting girls’ education retention and completion rates in Africa.
- Mobilise adolescent girls’ collective voices and ownership of the Pan African Girls’ Adolescent Movement.
- Advocate for commitments by the movement’s advocates and allies to support the promotion of quality education processes and outcomes amongst African adolescent girls.
